Established in 2009 by Amy and Scott Angelo, Oceana brews specialty coffees that have been roasted in small batches at its Roasting House and Café in Tequesta.
Scotty Angelo never planned on getting into the coffee roasting business – he just wanted a decent cup of joe. After moving to Jupiter, FL with his wife Amy, he couldn’t find any local brews similar to the style he loved in his native Australia, so he decided to try roasting his own.
He bought a $35 popcorn maker off of eBay and converted it into a coffee roasting machine. The resulting coffee was a resounding success, not just with Scotty but with his wife Amy and their friends and family as well! Scotty realized he was onto something and began experimenting with roasting bigger and better batches. And so Oceana Coffee was born.

Beginning with a popcorn popper in the kitchen, moving to a gas grill in the garage, and, finally, mastering the “green monster” in the Roasting House, Scott and Amy perfected their skills. The couple opened their first shop, committed to sharing the subtleties of their carefully roasted coffee with others.
Oceana Coffee now has two locations in Palm Beach County, Florida.  But, while the company has grown, the roasted batches remain small.

​I am super lucky to try the many roasts that Oceana has to offer. I received 3 bags.....Mexico, Sumatra and Ethiopia Limu Natural. When my coffee arrived in the mail and I opened the box it immediately filled the air with that warm, deep coffee flavor that we all know and love. I had friends over and we were all gathered in the kitchen when I opened the box. Everyone stopped and commented on how incredible it smells. We all wanted to tear open the bags and start grinding and brewing the fresh beans.

I didn't want to use my drip coffee maker for this coffee because I wanted to fully enjoy all it has to offer. I decided to use a french press because I didn't

want the paper filter in my drip maker to change the flavor of my coffee or absorb the natural oils. My personal favorite of these coffees is the Ethiopia Limu Natural and my mans favorite is the Sumatra.

​>Ethiopia Limu is a Multiple Medal Winning coffee for Oceana Coffee!! The natural processing has imparted intense fruitiness into the beans and the cup is Big, deep, sumptuous. Intricate flowers (lavender, wisteria), lushly complex fruit, roasted cacao nib, fragrant sandalwood in aroma and cup.
> Mexico ~ Chiapas (Fair Trade, Organic) This is a well-balanced coffee with a sweet, nutty aroma with very subtle hints of cinnamon rounded out by mild acidity and a clean finish.
